(The University of Colorado Denver)

The University of Colorado Denver, shortened as UCD or UC Denver, is a public university in the United States state of Colorado. It is one of three schools of the University of Colorado system. The university has two campuses - one in downtown Denver at the Auraria Campus, and the other at the Anschutz Medical Campus located in neighboring Aurora. The single university is the result of the 2004 consolidation of the "University of Colorado at Denver" and "University of Colorado Health Sciences Center."

One of the first bills Gov. Ritter signed into law was the “Longitudinal Growth” bill. This act called for CDE to develop a way to track the progress of individual students over time and to aggregate that measure of growth into a “rating” that could be used on the SAR. That model was developed over the course of last year with the input of a technical advisory panel. The results from that model using 2006 and 2007 data were released earlier this summer without much fanfare. The results from 2008 were released on August 19. The results will soon be available on the CDE website and can be accessed by anyone. Today we want to give you an overview of the state model and show you the results from your school and other schools in the district. The goal is to make sure you understand the basics of the model and feel confident in sharing the results with your staff and answering questions from staff and parents. There is data for individual students as well as the school as a whole. We want you to share the information with your staff. We are working with CDE and colleagues in neighboring districts to develop a way to share the individual student results with students and parents – you do not need to do that at this time.
