AIB Address
Cooperative Research Centre for Freshwater Ecology and the Natural Heritage Trust Field Data
This presentation aims to introduce course participants to the field data sheets before they go out in the field. It steps through each of the variables on the field data sheets, describing what the variables are and how they’re measured.
This presentation covers most of the variables common to all state and territory data sheets, however, if there’s some variables that you measure that are not in the presentation feel free to add slides or make the appropriate changes. It is recommended that course participants have a copy of your state’s field data sheet in front of them while you discuss each of the variables. It is also a good idea to re-order the sequence of the presentation to match the order that variables appear on your data sheets.
Security in Wireless networks
Since wireless communications use airwaves, they are intrinsically more vulnerable to interceptions and attacks than wired networks.
Some of the common types of attacks against wireless networks are :
Denial of Service (DoS) attacks
MAC spoofing
Man-in-the-middle attacks
ARP poisoning
Quantum Cryptography
Based on the laws of physics, Quantum Cryptography allows exchange of cryptographic key between two remote parties with unconditional security.
Quantum cryptography is used to produce and distribute a key, known as Quantum Key Distribution (QKD).
Some of the widely known QKD protocols are:
BB84
B92
Six State
SARG04
Use of Quantum Key Distribution in Wi-Fi Networks
IEEE 802.11 networks (Wi-Fi) offer wireless communications to customers located within a small range.
The distribution of secrete key that needed for secure communication is done in Wi-Fi networks via 4-way hand shake protocol.
It has been shown that 4-way hand shake protocol is subject to security attacks such DoS and Main-in-the Middle attacks.
The aim of this project is to use Quantum Key Distribution to distribute the secrete key in Wi-Fi networks, thereby achieving unconditional security. Quantum Cryptography for Secure Communication in 802.11i Networks
