The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (commonly referred to by the acronym "RMIT" is an Australian public university and provider of vocational education located in Melbourne, Victoria. It has two main branches: RMIT University (encompassing RMIT TAFE) and RMIT International University. RMIT is considered to be a selective university, ranked third in the state of Victoria and tenth in Australia - in reference to its research output.
