The Colorado College

The Colorado College (familiarly known as CC) is a private liberal arts college in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It was founded in 1874 by Thomas Nelson Haskell. The college enrolls approximately 2,000 undergraduates at its 90 acre (36 ha) campus, 70 miles (110 km) south of Denver in Colorado Springs, with a view of the Rocky Mountains to the west.

ECONOMIC EFFECTIVENESS: Supplemental Security Income Program 1984 vs. 1999

Teran Martin Colorado College Department of Economics Teran_Martin@Alumni.ColoradoCollege.edu This presentation represents research I performed while interning at the SSA that was then expanded to become my senior thesis. During my presentation, I will provide a brief overview of the SSI and legislative history. I will then discuss the data used and tests performed on the data sets including our key findings on the demographic characteristics, income, and poverty status. Next, I will give effectiveness definition of used, and evaluate whether the SSI program was more or less effective in 1984 than in 1999. Finally, I will conclude with the policy implications of these results.
