Lawrence Tech Scholars Equity Conference March 31, 2008

Hello. Today I would like to share with you an approach that we have taken to meeting the needs of a diverse group of our students at Lawrence Technological University. Lawrence Tech is private university is Southfield Michigan of about 4000 students with a large College of Engineering, a college of Architecture and Design, a college of Arts and Sciences (including Humanities, Social Sciences, and communication, a Natural Sciences dept. and a Math and Computer Science department; then finally we have college of Management, The Scholars Program is part of a larger initiative at Lawrence Tech that is sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences and our Office of Student Affairs. However, our student members of the Scholars organization can come from any major in the University as long they meet certain program requirements and are, ultimately, selected to be a Scholar through our application process. I am excited about sharing some of our ideas with you and having the opportunity to discuss them as well.
