Highways: cost and Regulation in Europe 26 – 27 November 2004, Bergamo Italy. Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen I am Nii Amoo Dodoo from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. For the next 10 minutes I will be presenting some work I have done as part of my PhD research which is looking at the development of a system for charging HGVs in relation to the amount of pavement damage caused on the road. I want to acknowledge the support of the Department for Transport in carrying out this work.
