Haskell Indian Nations University

Haskell Indian Nations University is a baccalaureate granting university in Lawrence, Kansas for members of federally recognized Native American tribes in the United States. Majors are offered in American Indian studies, environmental science, business administration, and elementary education. Semester fees in 2007-2008 fees were only $215. Approximately 1,000 students represent 150 tribes and all 50 states. Twelve campus buildings are U.S. National Historic Landmarks.

September 17,2009 at 4PM Haskell Indian Nations University Haskell Stadium Hosting LYNDA PRINCE Former Grand Chief of the Carrier Sekani tribe in British Columbia. She resides in Chico, California. & 120 DRUMS OF THUNDER Open to the public September 17th, 1884 Haskell opened its doors as a non-reservation boarding schools to take the American Indian children away from the reservation to avoid its influences. On this day Haskell is hosting a ceremony that will honor and recognize the sacrifice of the first students and their families that endured the hardships and struggles in the early years of the school.
