Dordt College is a private, Christian, liberal arts college located in Sioux Center, Iowa. It was founded in 1955 and is affiliated with the Christian Reformed Church. The college name is a reference to the Synod of Dort.
Experimental work includes making judgment calls, such as using preliminary results to change the design of an experiment, determining whether equipment is measuring what you think it is measuring, evaluating whether data support a particular conclusion, and communicating results in a convincing manner. For most introductory labs, these judgment calls are made for you ‘behind the scenes.’ However being able to make them is an important part of the ‘art of experimenting.’ This case study is intended to help you in developing this understanding via questions and discussion. Teaching is a worthy calling from God. One purpose of the TEP at Dordt is to help you determine if God gave you to be teachers. Once that is determined we must build the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to be effective teachers.
