We investigate the impact of particle size and distribution on the cathode performance. Stock (unprocessed) LMO was obtained from Aldrich (LiMn2O4, FW 180.81) and was subjected to ball milling to reduce its primary size. The size distributions of both unprocessed and processed (ball-milled) LMO powders were examined. A side-by-side comparison was done of the electrochemical properties of two different cathodes based on these processed and unprocessed materials.
