राष्ट्रीय फैशन टेक्नालॉजी संस्थान (National Institute of fashion Technology / NIFT) भारत में फैशन डिजाइन, प्रबंधन और तकनीकी के क्षेत्र में एक प्रमुख संस्थान हैं। वर्ष 1986 में भारत सरकार के वस्त्र मंत्रालय के तत्वावधान में राष्ट्रीय फैशन टैक्नालॉजी संस्थान की एक शीर्ष निकाय के रूप में स्थापना की गई थी । भारत की संसद द्वारा पारित निफ्ट अधिनियम 2006 के माध्यम से निफ्ट को अन्य प्रतिष्ठित संस्थानों की भांति फैशन प्रौद्योगिकी में शिक्षा के विकास और अनुसंधान के लिए सांविधिक दर्जा प्रदान किया गया है जिससे यह संस्थान अपने विद्यार्थियों को डिग्री और अन्य शैक्षिक प्रमाण पत्र प्रदान कर सकेगा ।

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in New Delhi was established in 1986 under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The main motive behind the idea of this Institute was to fulfill the long-felt needs of the export-oriented garment industry to train manpower in fashion design, garment manufacturing technology and apparel marketing and merchandising. NIFT is one of the leading fashion schools of India. It is the founder member of "Fashion school foundation of world", which comprises 23 fashion schools worldwide. Many of the leading designers of India are NIFT alumni. In 2006, the Parliament passed the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Bill, 2005, thereby receiving a statutory status and empowering the institute to grant its own degrees and other academic distinctions.
