Procedures Relating to: Repeat Exams
Repeat information will be sent in June following semester 2 exams.
Repeat Exams – 15th to 27th August (To be confirmed)
If you fail repeat Exams in August: Opportunity to repeat by Exams only (repeat externally) or by attendance of repeat modules (repeat attend)
All of the above have financial implications
& need to be thought through carefully

Viewing of Scripts
Application to view Scripts must be made on line
Closing date for viewing of scripts is 5.00pm Monday 7th February 2011
Scripts will be available for viewing on Wednesday 16th February 2011
Exams: Mitigating Circumstances/Appeals/Compensation Mitigating Circumstances
Certification regarding death or illness at the time of an exam must be submitted to the School office within 5 working days of the exam (Receipt will be provided from School Office)

Closing date for Semester 1 appeals is 5.00pm Monday 7th February 2011. There shall be a fee of €60 for an examination appeal. This fee will be reimbursed should the appeal be upheld
Substantive Irregularities/defect in the exam process – form available in Registrars office
Results may be appealed on the basis of perceived substantive irregularity or inequity in the examination process or in the delivery of the prescribed curriculum.
Exam Information Compensation
A Student may pass the exam by compensation at the discretion of the Exam Board
Compensation cannot occur between semesters, except in first year.
Marks must be 35% or higher for the module in which you are seeking compensation (where the pass rate is 40%)
In order to pass by compensation you must have attained at least twice the amount by which you have failed in another module above the passing grade (usually 40%) e.g. to compensate 4 marks for a 36% result, in one of the modules passed you must have obtained 48% or higher
