दिल्ली मेट्रो : मेरा मेट्रो संकेत बिंदु – (१) दिल्ली की यातायात समस्या (२) दिल्ली में मेट्रो (३) दिल्ली मेट्रो का वर्तमान रूप
(४) मेट्रो की विशेषताएँ दिल्ली की यातायात समस्या बड़ी पेचीदा है।दिल्ली की आबादी एक करोड़ साठ लाख को पार कर गई है। इतनी बड़ी जनसंख्या के यातायात को केवल दिली परिवहन निगम के भरोसे नहीं छोड़ा जा सकता । इस विकट समस्या से निपटने के लिए दिल्ली में २४ दिसम्बर, २००२ को तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री श्री अटल बिहारी बाजपेयी के हाथों मेट्रो रेल का उद्घाटन हुआ।इसे प्रारंभिक चरण में शाहदरा से तीस हजारी तक लाया गया। ८.३ किमी. की दूरी को मात्र १३ मिनट में तय किया गया। दिल्लीवासियों का सपना पूरा हुआ। अब यह रिठाला गाँव तक चलती है। उधर दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय से भूमिगत मेट्रो कश्मीरी गेट , दिल्ली रेलवे स्टेशन, चावड़ी बाजार व राजीव चौक (कनाट प्लेस) होती हुई विजय चौक तक चल रही है। मेट्रो पिछले दो सालों से लाखों यात्रियों को सुविधा पहुँचा रही है। यह पूर्णतः वातानुकूलित है। इससे काफ़ी समय बचता है और यात्रा सुविधापूर्वक होती है। यह हमें प्रदूषण से बचाती है। मेट्रो में यात्रा करना एक सुखद अनुभव है। यह पूरी तरह सुरक्षित है। महिलाएँ इसका भरपूर लाभ उठा रही हैं।
