Objectives
To study the spectrum of ACS and To study the coronary artery disease (CAD) risk factors in subjects admitted in ICU of a tertiary referral centre of central Nepal.
Methods and Material
A descriptive study All the patients with provisional diagnosis of ACS admitted in ICU from August 2009 to September 2010 were prospectively included Detail demographic data including various coronary risk factors and clinical parameters, investigations, and complications were entered in a designated proforma. The patterns of various forms of ACS and associated coronary risk factors were calculated Data was analyzed using SPSS - 16.0
Results
Total of 57 subjects with ACS were included in the study. Majority (63.1%) were males. Mean age was 64.54±13.8 years. 8.7% patients were < 45 years and 45.6% patients were > 65 years. Majority of the patients had diabetes (45.6%).
