It has been quite a journey this launch of SlideFinder. It saw the first day of light in the summer of 2008, slowly starting to crawl the web for interesting slides.
This last year has been spent on tweaking the search engine and creating a user-friendly interface. We also worked hard on developing a way to compare the presentations among each other’s. This was done with the intention to present multiple similar presentations of what the user was looking for.
We hope that you will find this specialized Microsoft PowerPoint search engine useful. Much of today’s top content is located in presentations. Finding it is unfortunately not that easy, with traditional search engines such as Google, Yahoo or Microsoft new search engine Bing. Using SlideFinder will help you narrow down your searches, down to the slide level. You could for example be searching for slides with a specific word in the slide title. SlideFinder will present you with a number of thumbnails showing you a preview of the slide you are looking for.
What's next...well now that we have most of the infrastructure in place we are going to focus on seriously increasing the number of indexed presentations. We also have a large number of ideas on how to further improve our users experience and facilitate the search for slides. Please help us spread the word of this new PowerPoint search engine and keep your eyes open for new features coming up soon.
Best regards from,
The SlideFinder.Net team
